I have one of the Volvo tachometers that has the little toggle switches on the back to set it. Does anyone know what the settings are suppose to be on for it to be used on a 6 cylinder?
The back of the gauge should illustrate the setting aka 4-6-8 take a light and maybe some glasses...... IF your at my age that is..it can be well frustrating.

This Volvo tach is not one that has just three different settings. It has about 7 or 8 extremely small toggle type switches on the back that have to all be in a certain position depending on what motor it's being used on. It was on a V8 and I'm wanting to use it on a V6.
I have seen tachs with 3 position dip switches but never more than that unless the tach is running off the alternator like a diesel would. Have a picture of the back?
Also, Volvo doesn't likely make the tach, someone else does and Volvo puts their name on it. Might be a VDO.
