good morning, I have fours winns 318 with Volvo 5.7 engines osxi-jf, water entered into an opportunity to the cylinders and turn trying to damage the boot. after that tube to do complete engine, the starter motor to install in had an ugly sound, but the engine turns. and changed the starter twice and the sound is, but if I remove the spark plug motor runs perfect without sound. problems will be set-up? the bedix and steering wheel are perfect. if anyone has any experience with this Please help

Let's try and get this clarified, so maybe someone can help.

1) Did water get into the cylinders?

2) The engine now turns smoothly with the plugs out? That is with the starter motor? So you hear the noise only with the plugs in?

3) You say the bendix is good. Have you you inspected the flywheel ring gear? (you posted steering wheel)

Where are you? What language? Maybe we can help narrow this down more.

1 - and no water in the cylinders, the engine was completely cast.

2 - sound turns without plugs out, when I put the plugs sounds ugly, but starts the engine

3 - The Bendix is also perfect and crown

but in Venezuela we do not, so I put a generic as this Volvo Penta Marine Various Models 4 3L 5 7L 7 4L 8 2L 96 97 99 Starter New | eBay

goes well for 3 or 4 times, then starts grinding sound

No agua in los cylindros? Pero se dice "water entered into an opportunity to the cylinders and turn trying to damage the boot". Posible espanol es mejor. Yo hablo poquito espanol, pero no comprendo nada. Yo usara Google translator. Que es "boot" in espanol? Equal barco?

Entiende "flywheel" y "ring gear"? Posible ring gear equal crown?

Necesitamos un socio que es fluido en espa?ol.

gracias,mejor te escribo en espa?ol .
1- no hay agua en los cilindros en este momento, anteriormente entro agua por los manifould y se realizo overhaul completo del motor

2- cuando entro agua el motor se puso pesado y da?o el arranque

3- repare el motor y cambie el arranque por uno generico, este arranque generico va bien 4 o 5 encendidos despues suena como raspando algo.


Mis preguntas: sera que el arranque no es el original y por eso da problemas?
sera que los tornillos no son originales y se mueve de su posici?n y suena?
sera que el motor esta fuera de tiempo (atrasado o adelantado) y esta muy pesado por eso el arranque se mueve de su posicion?

Boot = Starter in ingles? "Starter" o "starter motor" equal "motor de arranque". Si, es posible motor de arranque es malo por sus motor principal. Pero es posble problema es engranaje del volante.

Edit: engranaje del volante = crown = flywheel ring gear. Ahhhh!

Check the teeth on the ring gear, all the way around. Broken ones can damage a new bendix.

Many aftermarket starters need shimming out away from the ring gear. Click Here

la corona es buena, lo extra?o es que este arranque (starter) enciende bien el motor 4 o 5 veces y despues empieza a fallar.

por eso pregunto si el motor no estar? muy pesado (fuera de tiempo) y el arranque hace mucho esfuerzo ?

Es posible calor hace que la interferencia despu?s de varios intentos.

no es interferencia porque el arranque dispara bien, es el sonido de molienda que hace, me imagino que se afloja o se mueve un poco y empieza el sonido
