vortec exhuast bolt pattern

So I have a nice set of headers that I want to use on my 383 that I am having built. The 383 has vortec heads. These headers were designed for the pre-vortec heads. Someone told me the exhaust ports and the bolt pattern is different on the vortec heads? Anybody know for sure. If the bolt pattern is the only thing that is different I could probably just drill some new holes. thanks

I know all SBC heads up to the 350 cu.in. are the same. bore size dosent matter

There is something about the height of the exhaust port being .100" higher on a Vortec head. Bolt pattern is the same.

Do you think these headers will work then? Maybe with some minor modifications? These headers are like 6 grand new so I really want to usse them. thanks

Yes they will work, and you are insane for spending that much on headers!
