here's one that could get going....<br /><br />tell us which iboats post is your all time favorite and why. it can be from any of the forums.<br /><br />i'll throw out the first that comes to mind- the post about the poor guy whose new boat was listing to port. it had some drama (i felt bad for him), laughs (some of the recommendations and explanations where outright ridiculous), and longevity (200+ posts i think? what a story to follow each day at work).<br /><br />let's hear it...

I have to say the post Kenny started about the builder next door building on wetlands. That whole post is what made me join iboats. That entire saga was unbelievable.

Sadly I haven't been around here long enough to see those posts. IMHO on of the funniest posts of all tim eon the net has to be the one linked to below. Be forewarned, there is some mild adult remarks. Also please dont drink anything while reading the thread, I will not be responsable for ruined keyboards or speckled monitors or any beverage spewing from anybody's nostrals! I liked most of Derwood's stories enough to read them more than once. My favorite post was the one in which he was asking how he could replace his lawnmower wheel and clothsline steering with a push-pull cable setup. I was coming back everyday (twice even) to read up on that one, and to figure out what the heck trick-bolting is!

Good Grief!! <br /><br />I must have read at least 300,000 posts here and enjoyed many, but to pick one? <br /><br />The technical ones I like best are the ones that posed a difficult problem, got several really good helpers giving advice and the problem was solved, followed by a success report from the original poster. That is what this site is mostly about.<br /><br />I have enjoyed many Stupid Human Tricks and many posts that had Nothing To Do With Boats.<br /><br />Another thing I really like about our community of boaters.... When any of us has troubles there is always an outpouring of support and offers to help. We care about each other. Those posts and the flood of support and advice must be my favorites.

Well I still check daily for Suds to reply to "New Boat listing to Port", and I also lost it on the Marooned Anchor stuff, and so far as the houtus, I guess these forums also help to remind you, of your parents old saying, "I b*tched about not having any shoes, till I met a man with no feet."<br /><br />They are a good source of support to get help with a problem, throw in a little comedy, and remind you that no matter how bad it is for you, somebody else is in a worse predicament!<br /><br />Just one of GodsBeast's

I must say that Derwood kept it going here and his posts were more like stories...I even nameed my outhouse after him "The ShoaFin Retreat". Wish he would sign in again...LostWood gots my vote here.
