Turn the key on fuel pump kicks on, beep beep. Start the engine, it fires up no issue but will not stay running, Push the gear over ride button to provide a little more gas (like a carb) start the engine, it stays running. give it a few minutes to warm up, kick it back down into idle and it idles with no issue. Turn engine off and restart, no issues. Why do I need to initially have to give it more gas (like a carb) but in theory I'm not giving it any gas because it MPI. Twin engines both do the same thing, I have no performance issues with either engine. No Fuel Pump Whine, new filters didn't make a difference.

Fresh water only
Lake Mead Las Vegas so no winterizing.
Been doing it for at least a year just learned to live with it and use the override

Why?

Thanks

Twin engines both do the same thing,

I would look at battery and ground connections, see if they are clean and tight. Leave batteries off charger for a couple hours, then measure voltage. Battery should not be below 12.5V

if both engines doing same thing, look at what is common.

batteries and fuel.

in addition to making sure every battery cable connection is clean enough for your kids to eat off them, make sure your fuel isnt bad

Appreciate the response and suggests, batteries are good, fuel is good, separate fuel tanks. remember it only does it when it's cold. After the engines are warm, it will fire and idle no problems

It is very rare that something like the IAC (idle speed sensor), TPS, MAP or ECT would have issues on both engines at the same time. If you only had one motor I would think maybe a dirty IAC or issue with the ECT. When the motor is cold the ECT will be telling the ECU it needs more fuel. Once warmed up this stops

This is good info that I will look into, I agree both engines seem odd for it to happen to, but you never know. I will update after this weekend.

Thanks

as a update I replaced the plugs and pressure regulator and now it will fire up without having to advance the throttle. Doing the port engine this weekend, hopefully I will have the same luck..
