VP 8.1 gxi computer readout

I’m looking at this boat and having it surveyed the one Mechanic can put the engine on the computer and give me a readout of everything RPM hours etc.
what would I be looking for on the readout that would be bad? What are things that I be looking for that would be issues. I know he’s the one that will let me know but I’m just asking so I know what to look for just trying to understand what is in this program. Yes I’m having a full survey done, The motor looks completely spotless in the exhaust has no signs of rust or anything. I can pay extra to have a computer readout and just trying to understand what I would be looking for that would be bad? If it’s even worth it

It will give you actual hours on the engine vs what is on the meter. It could potentially tell you if there are current trouble codes. I'm not sure why they would charge extra it's like hooking a obd scanner to your car.
