1998 DP-SM, 1.95:1, 5.7L-300hp Crusaders, 2010. PICKED UP ON SHEEN LATE IN SEASON. GEAR OIL LEVEL LOW. ADDED ABOUT 1/4 QUART TO BOTH DRIVES.

PULLED DRIVES. PLENTY OF NON-MILKY GEAR OIL IN GIMBAL BELLOWS.

ASSUMING LEAK FROM SEAL BEHIND YOKE SHAFT.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? HOW DIFFICULT A REPAIR DO YOU THINK IT IS?

THANK YOU, VERY MUCH, FOR ANY HELP.

First,, turn off the all caps, I hate being yelled at, and it's hard to read.

The job takes some precesion, you have to remove the front portion of the drive, remove the ujoint assembly, replace the seal and most likely the yoke (and ujoints) then reassemble with new thrust sleeve and reset the rolling torque.
Do it wrong, and it can cost you a drive. They only cost about 10 grand.
