Hi I have a four winns 29 ft with twin Volvo Penta
5.0 Gi with duo props when I put eight adults on it it does not get on plane that well. My boat come stock with F5 props
I'm being told if I switch to F4 it would help it plane better and add a few more RPMs top end?

correct, the F4 has less pitch than the F5 props.

has this always been the case or is this a new to you problem?

many times, simply moving weight forward will get you out of the hole and up on plane. especially when you have a full crew of people on board.

I just recently picked up the boat, and has been running really good except for when I have 7 to 8 adults on there. One thing the motor is running at the bottom end of top rpm with the F5 props
So I was thinking the F4 would help get on plane and pick up some rpm on top

How often do you have the 7 or 8 adults? Keep that in consideration when you are about to spend $1400 for a set of props.

Yeah I understand I need to put that in the equation, but I have excellent condition set of F5 to sell
Also I found a brand new set of F4 $850 and that you set for 650 just a thought

I have just the opposite problem. I have a 232 Cobalt with a single 5.7 DPS with the F-4 props, and it will run right up to the rev limiter. I think you should move next door to me, so I can try your F-5 props . Dave-R
