i have a 98 volvo penta 5.7gsi with a duo prop dps. the trouble that i am having is my trim sender wires are bad, cut and corroded, do i have to replace the sender or is it there just for the gauge? ive been using the boat like this for a while and just noticed the wires were no good. i have a vdo cluster the boat is a 4 winns and i thought the cluster was bad, hence not looking into the sender. ive tried pulling out the plug in the intermediate but will have to destroy it to get it out. next to the sender hole is another hole with a plug in it, i cannot find that plug in any manuals or parts diagrams. if someone could shed some light on the subject that would be appreciated. thanks again

That trim sender can be for the gauge and the trim limit and tilt limit if you have the black box with LED's on it.

The black box is about 3" square and maybe an inch thick, with LED's down one side and some wiring harnesses coming out of it. Typically mounteds on the transom near the engine.

I have no idea if it will work with all gauges or not.
