VP SX power steering problem

Hi,

The steering is sticky turning the steering wheel to both sides. If I turn the wheel several turns I feel the power assist coming and going. I have removed the cylinder assembly, and the valve spool (where outer part of cable is fastened) is hard to move. I believe that it should move rather easy and go back to its center position by spring force? If someone could confirm that I will take it apart.

What's the condition of the PS belt and fluid level? You are assuming the power assist coming and going is a result of some sort of physical resistance of the cable?

Thanks for replay, I found the problem the steering valve was sticking. Sadly its not possible to repair...
