Rusted through stat housing on an (original housing only-repower 96) 77 350 Volvo Penta 280. Found a similar one on ebay (P/N 835905), and need to know if it will fit. I have some fudge room on the raw water hose, and circ pump hose, Two hoses to exhaust mans can be made new and room to route. This a can do situation? I cant tell if the 835905 has the stat in housing, like the old one does. See the pix. (I was putting a new circ pump on, and while I had the housing off, glad I took a small hammer and tapped on it and found a dull thud spot on the bottom. Awl went in pretty easy). Also if this won't work, anyone know where I can find a new housing? Thanks for the info in advance
Heres the original setup..
I have a 350 too....mine is an 83 but looks just like yours. Mine is an OMC and I bet just about any housing will work.

My thermostat housing is different from yours but I bet mine would bolt right on to the manifold as my 4 bbl manifold I believe is identical to yours. You even have the same carb as mine. All you would have to do is have to monkey around with the hoses to make them work.
