info please<br />1. have disconnected my 1998 90hp vro capped off <br />the oil line and disconnected alarm switch<br />can this be reconnected later or will the oil pump be damaged<br />2. is there any difference in the 2004 vro in a<br />90hp compared to a 1998 model as i'm looking to upgrade and the only problem with my 98 model is<br />the smokey vro<br />thanks in advance<br />brian

It can be reconnected.I bypassed mine(96' 70 hp Rude) a few years ago due to internal seal leakby between the oil and fuel chambers when out of use.Smoked like a train for the first few minutes of cold startup until it cleared the extra oil.Works superbly as a 50:1 pumper.Don't know enough details of the 04 units to compare the two.I think they're the same though.Maybe one of the guys in the know on the 04' units will chime in.

The newest VROs ( OMS pump ) seem to be working quite well. This is much better than previous versions. My info is that it mixes at a straight ratio now of 50:1. but the reliability has significant improvement.
