Howdy folks,

Been thinking about the boat lately and some maintenance i can do before the thaw. i have a question i need some help. i have a working vro and was inspecting the oil line and see it's rock hard and around the clamps it seems like it could be weeping a little oil. have not noticed any performance issue last summer or no leaks, but thinking about some preventative maintenance. So my question is what is the oil line and where can i buy some??

Would 5/16" fuel line be acceptable?

Engine:
1986 Johnson 120HP (model #J120TLCDC) with working VRO2 pump (3 wire).

Cheers

Re: VRO oil line replacement

I just replaced the oil entire system on my 1997 200 hp. The fuel lines where hard as you noted and the tank was permeating pretty bad as well. Looked around and found a complete assembly for a reasonable price on Ebay . I'm now good to go for another 17 years

Get the oil line and the primer bulb from a BRP dealer. That way you'll be sure it's correct.

Re: VRO oil line replacement

Thanks, i've been looking. unfortunately where i am in canada the prices are higher than even BRP has listed, now our canadian dollar is going down, i was hoping for a easier cheaper solution. But i'll see what i can find.

Cheers

Re: VRO oil line replacement

The BRP oil lines and primer bulb are special and somewhat obscure and hard to find in their parts/accessories book. The oil line and primer bulb are both an unusual 1/4" in size. The oil line is special, with a yellow stripe running the length of the hose. The primer bulb is a special 1/4" meant for oil lines. Here are the BRP part numbers: oil primer bulb: 5008620, oil tank hose: 778707, sold by the foot.

Re: VRO oil line replacement

Awesome, thanks emdsapmgr

i thought the oil line was smaller than 5/16ths. i've just not wanted to screw with that old stuff until i had more information on the replacements. i actually do have some new 1/4" fuel line in a pinch. but i have time so i'll see if i can get some BRP stuff.

cheers

Update, i picked up and oil tank assembly, hose and primer brp# 5008617. looks like i am going to have to modify the wires it has a different connector on it.
