I have a 1990 Johnson 120 VRO. I am planning on changing all the oil and gas hoses on the engine soon. I was checking the manual and it said anytime you disconnect a hose from the vro, you need to put oil in the gas to until you make sure vro is working. I know the vro is working fine, do you think i still need to do this?

thanks

Re: vro oil lines

Yes you should mix oil/gas when changing oil lines. It's not a matter of the VRO pump working, but even a tiny air bubble can stop the flow of oil. What you need to make sure of is that the feed of oil causes visible lowering in your oil tank before you start using straight gas.
