Re: vro pump

They have been 50-1 from about 1989/1990, maby before. The first one without an alarm supposed to do 150-1 at idle and 50-1 at wide open throttle.

Re: vro pump

I read in my manual last night (I have a 95' 200), and it said that the 95' pump is a variable rate pump, and if the VRO had been replaced with a 96'-98' VRO, it is a constant 50-1 ratio pump.

I'm not sure about your 94', but I would think it was a variable pump, and your newer pump will be consuming more oil.

One thing I know for sure, if you do what they say when trouble shooting your newer pump (50-1), and pre-mix your fuel 50-1, it won't idle worth a dam because, it is now idling at 25-1, instead of whatever the original pump was putting out at idle, like 75-1 or 100-1.
