vro removed

i reciently removed the vro pump from my 1990 40hp johnson .the pump i ordered,Sierra 18-7352 Fuel Pump.it has only 2 connections on it.but i have 2 hosed to connect the fuel in fuel out and the pulse hose.could some tell me what im doing wrong.

this pump mount to the block pulse, as the old motors, and you block the pulse line. there should be a plug in the block pulse.

this is a 93 40hp yours should be very similar. the red is the pulse, remove plug, the yellow are for the mounting bolts, the gasket goes between block and pump.

Like he said. I have a 1990 40HP. If you look on the port side of the block (same side as VRO pump) there is a SS pipe plug with two mounting holes around it. That is the mounting location for the std fuel pump. If you use it, you will need to relocate the pipe plug to the pulse outlet that was used by the VRO pump. That's my best guess.
