1989 J60TLCEA. I probably have a little air leak in the VRO's oil feeding hose. I was a little late with winterizing and the oil got already cold and viscous (42?F). So I warmed up the engine on muffs to prepare for fogging. Then I shut off the engine and removed the air silencer cover. When I started the engine again the no-oil alarm went off. Of couse I stopped the engine immediately. Then I purged the oil hose and started the engine again and helped the VRO pump for a few seconds by pressing the oil primer bulb. The alarm stopped and I could continue with fogging.
To prevent this in future I want to replace the oil hose (the part inside the cowling) with a clear one. The sight tube is milky anyway and with a clear hose I'm able to detect air leaks very soon, especially right at the VRO input. Also I can reduce the number of clamps (and leaks) in the oil hose this way.
What is the right hose material for this? PVC, PUR, PE, Vinyl, Silicone? What stays clear and soft enough over temperature and time in contact with two-stroke oil?
