vro2 pump

i have a 1990 evinrude with a vro2 pump on it. The pump has 4 wirers, Tan, Brown,Purple,black. I had to rewire my engine harness and dont no where the purple wire goes from the VRO2 pump. my engine harness has no purple wire on it.. Can any body help..

purple is power, it should go to the purple wire at red plug and either to a terminal strip &/or rectifier/regulater depending on motor. this based on a 1990 120 to 140 & 185 to 225.

my harness has 7 wires comingfrom it, no that are puple. Can i hook it to the starter silenoid. My retifier has only 3 wire from it.

There should be a switched purple wire somewhere in the engine harness, if you have the correct harness.

i have the oringnal harness that i rebuilt. i think the fuel pump might be a new one, i got the boat used. my book shows the fuel pump is supose to have 3 wires not 4. Ive mix gas and oil in the tank do these wires have to be hooked up to get the warning horn to go off when im out of gas.. Thanks
