Got your name from a member on the Texas Fishing Forum. I am looking for a prop for my father's boat, a 1997 Champ. 223 elite. The boat is brand-spanking new (garage kept and never saw the water for 6 years) He decided to buy a new motor and came across a 2001 Evinrude 225 Rude Ram. The engine only has 20 hrs on it, and they all came from him.

He is currently running a 6" setback, and a 3 blade (raker). It has an unbelieveable holeshot, turns 6000 WOT, but the speed is not all that..72 on GPS. I would like to get him a performance prop that will give him that extra punch when he gets a wild hair, but will still provide a solid hole-shot. Are you in the prop business?? How do you make these Rudes scream?

Re: WALLEYEHEAD!

Welcome aboard, Chad!
You need to look into a Turbo Ligthning in the same pitch as your Raker.
You say 6" set-back...are we dealing with a jackplate??
I'd also like to ask Dhadley to step in on this one too, if'n he catches it.....

That's not all that? How fast do you want to fly?

Walleyehed - how much faster would you think a Turbo could be than a same pitch Raker?

Re: WALLEYEHEAD!

At 6000 (known) and 10% slip (assumed) we're looking at about a 26" prop to get to a true (GPS) 72 mph.
