Walmart Pflueger reel pretty good!

JUst had a pleasant surprise recently. I got a reel from walmart (pflueger) for less than what I typically buy (abu garcia) because my last garcia's level wind/worm gear wore out so quickly. Seems the new garcias are not even in the ballpark of quality compared to the old ones.
Anyway, the pflueger wasn't that bad on price and is really smooth, casts nicely, and I've had no problems with the spool release and such. I really like the darned thing! Really fast and smooth retrieve also. Good grips.... Now to see how long it lasts!
Just thought I'd post my experience since I rarely find something that satisfies me for a reasonable price.
Conversely, I bought a brand new cheapo reel off ebay "just to see" and come to find out, it's made in CHina. You can likely guess at the quality. It's loud and rough on every cast, and the spool release doesn't stay engaged about 1 out of 4 casts. Totally annoying.

It's a "templar" model. I looked on the walmart site and it's not online. I should probably go buy another one at my small-town walmart. ANytime they get anything I like in stock for a reasonable price, it sells out quick and they figure it best to not get any more of 'em. Same with good fishing baits, etc.

I have a cheap pflueger spinning reel... It a "pflueger max" which was on sale at Cabela's for $39 I think... that's < 1/2 of their "president". I wasn't sure about buying one of their cheaper ones, but it's great and very smooth. The only complaint I have, (and all other current spinning reels) is that the bail turns the wrong way. If it turned the other way, it'd place the line right on your right index finger for the next cast. My old Mitchell was that way, and you never had to look down to position the line... just stick finger down and grab line as you retrieved... I'm a big spinning reel fan, but why they're all built backwards is beyond me... it's like they're made for lefties. I am a fan of pflueger now though.
