Want to do brackish water. what do i need to do a flush?

I want to put my boat in the Potomac which I was told was brackish water. I use it at a lake, but bought it from someone who used it in brackish water. What do I need to do when I am done boating for the day?

I have a 98 capri 1750 w/ a 3.0L merc

You can even use it for your daily washdown - read their web page. It really is pretty good stuff.

Put it on muffs & run it for 10 minutes or so.....
They do have salt away kits, but I think it would be overkill in your case.....
I'm sure there are many here with raw water cooling who will have advice......​

Thats me and I second it. I boat in the Bay and when I get home its a 5 minute flush, rinse off the hull and I,m done.

Don't sweat it, a good flush and rinse is all you need. I grew up on the lower James river, our first two family boats were both old (15 and 24 years old) when we got them, both were still running original power. They were always flushed, and we sold them, they still had original power.

Don't forget to rinse off your trailer and brakes!
