Good Day all...

I have a 1988 evinrude 28 HP SPL (2 cylinder) on my fishing boat. This unit does not have a tachometer on it and I need to know if that engine will support one. If a tach can be installed, is there anthing special I need to know before purchasing one. Thanks, RMA

Re: Want to install a tach

mellowyellow, I just got a Tiny-Tach delivered today. Question is, can I splice the lead and make it longer so that it will fit on the dash?

i think the longer the wire, the harder it is to
get a good reading... so I don't think so.
could be wrong, try tiny tach and see what they
say. let us know how it turns out.
good luck,
M.Y.

I also needed a longer wire (14').

TinyTach sent that to me as part of the purchase for an extra price.

I think they are particular that the same wire be used, so give them a call about the extra wire.
