Want to install new outdrives on an old boat...

I own a 1964 Crusiers Inc, Barnegat Bay with twin 120HP 4-cyl engines. The previous owner upgraded the motors to 3.0 sometime in the 90's. The outdrive numbers do not match the boat, the era, or eachother! The tilt trim and and internal hydraulics are a serious pain and I've had about enough of that!

We love this boat for may reasons and I'm seriously considering installing new Alpha drives from the transom out. I've looked for a couple of newer donor boats but keep leaning towards new outdrives and starting from scratch. Any recommendations for a dealer to buy these from?

I have also considered pulling the dual 3.0 and swapping in a single V-8, but for now, I'm going to stick with the duals.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Ayuh,.... That's some old stuff,.... Yer gonna be redrillin' the transom regardless which vintage you choose,...

Goin' to the last of the MC-1s, insteada the early model Alpha would help with inside fitment,....

Anything from 'bout '83 on up will need more parts inside to swap,...

The rear motor mount spacin' changed,....

Nice looking old Cruisers. no way I would go from twins to a single and butcher up that beautiful transom.
