We are getting fiber to the home this summer (Yippie!) and I'd like to add a high quality camera to the wifes computer so she can "teleconferance" with our kids. (They are spread out across the country and the youngest is stationed overseas.) She has a cheapo web cam that came with the system but it's image quality, resolution, etc. leave a lot to be desired.
With bandwidth to burn I'd like to find a camera that has a great image, doesn't turn strange colors when the image changes, and does more than 3 or 4 frames a second. FYI: It will be attached to a quad CPU based machine with a ton of ram so computing power will not be an issue. If grandma can see the grandkids on a regular basis I'll win the "Great husband" award.
Anyone have something they think works great? (Simple to operate with good software and interface is a huge plus.)
