Question about a Ward Sea King 9hp. I'm thinking of buying this motor, owner says the recoil starter is broken, but I notice on the top is a notch that looks like it will take a starter cord. Can this motor be started that way? See picture. Also does anyone know where I can find an impeller for this motor? He's only asking $50. Sounds like a deal, what do you think?

It's a Chrysler, so you can get parts from a former Force dealer or from a Merc/Mariner dealer. The plastic rope pulleys like to separate and bind. Parts are available as far as I know. The sheave on the flywheel is for emergency starting. It can get you out of a bind, but you'll cuss at it a whole lot if it's your only means of starting.
