Re: warning alarm

hello
no and no.
so far yammi doesnt self test the audible on singles. although I have heard of a few that do. twins do an audible self test. your over propped. you need a wheel that will let it turn 5500-5600 RPM at medium load.
good luck and keep posting.

Re: warning alarm

Full Throttle operating range 4500-5500. If I reprop for 5500 this will only increase low end correct?
I am more than please with low end if there is no harm done, not to mention cost.

Re: warning alarm

hello
that is not all it says.
read me what the yamaha recomendation is. I think it says Yamaha recommends propping to the high side of the range to insure long life or something like that. I shoot for 55-56K with a full fuel tank and 2 people.
good luck and read the entire section not just the 45-55K parts then make a decision.

Re: warning alarm

At full throttle and under a maximum boat load, the engine's rpm should be within the upper have of the full throttle operating range as listed in "specifications" on page 4-1. Select a propeller which fulfills this requirement.

On 4-1.
Full throtle operating range. 4500-5500

So actual FTOR would be 5000-5500.

Re: warning alarm

I would put a few hours on it before I re-proped. My friend just broke in a new 150. He was told by his dealer that the computer is in a detuned state when new for break in purposes and that after a certian amount of time it gets better. I was in his boat on her maiden voyage and her top speed was 53 mph. It has about 10 hours on it now and goes 59.

Re: warning alarm

Thanks Rod and 86
It is new and still breaking in, besides I dont run WOT often, and I think with some trimming I may get 5000+. With the kind of lowend Im getting now, I cant imagine going lower. Think I might have prop blowout probs.
