Warning Bell Merc 150 Black Max

I purchased a boat recently with a 1988 150 merc black max. The compression is excellect but after having it looked over had to replace the power packs and a few other small odds and ends. At times when I either flip the master switch or turn the motor on a constant beep is present. This does not happen all the time and somtimes goes off after I have the boat going for a few minutes especially after go over a few wakes. It is not the thermostat as it is a constant beep rather than the beep beep beep that the heat warning emits. I have checked the oil levels in both the upper chamber and tank. I have charged the battery. The boat is somewhat difficult to start at times but runs OK for the age. Idles a little rough but again does alright for the age of the motor. <br />Also at high end( 5400 rpm) runs very smooth<br />Anyone have any ideas. <br />Thanks for the help.
