I have an 84 Johnson 40HP tiller steer. It is the VRO but it has been disconnected I just bought it on Sun I put it in the water before I bought it and there was not a buzzer going off, but I put it in the water today and as soon as I cranked it a solid warning buzzer was going off. There is a sensor plug that is disconnected in the motor but the buzzer goes off even after I reconnect the plug. Any help would be great. Also there is no fuel water separator the fuel line goes straight from the tank to the motor, is it ok to run it without a separator.

The motor is peeing a good cold stream.

Thanks Brian

Disconnect the brown wire at the temp sender and see if the buzzer goes off, maybe a short in the sensor, or the thermostat is not working properly.

I disconnected the brown wire at the temp sender ( I am pretty sure it was the correct wire) the solid buzzer stopped but now it has a beep..beep..beep sound. If i reconnect the wire the solid buzzer starts back up.
