in checking out why my buzzer was not self testing on start up I found one of the wires had been cut, and it was pretty rusty so I cut the other and brought it in the garage for cleaning/testing. After some amount of work(I finally had to bang it on the carpeted side of the bench) I got it working but it was short lived. I went on a site and priced a new buzzer and it was nearly 60 usd which is way too high considering what the part consists of. I am thinking about replacing the thing with a bright light on the console, it may be less annoying to the fish as well. Will this work? Or any ideas for a cheaper reliable replacment buzzer? I have already destroyed 1 smoke alarm.
