Warning Horn Activates with key off

Hi,<br /><br />I have a 1984 90 HP Rude. Sometimes, when I turn the main power on, the warning horn continuously buzzes. The key is off. This happens when the engine is cold, in my garage, so it's not a temp thing.<br /><br />Any ideas as to what could be wrong. <br /><br />Thanks,<br />Paul

Try pulling the wire off the temp. sensor on the back of the head and see if it stops. Could be the horns failing, too.

Hi Tink,<br /> I had the same problem on 1986 rude,chased that prob. for 4yrs It was very intermitent and never in the drive way where i could trouble shoot . finaly failed completly. Turned out to be the electronic circuits in the oil tank pickup assembly. disconect the 2wire plug from oil tank see if it stops.
