grounded tan wire to block. It was shooting sparks so it was live. Held it there tight but it blew the main fuse (20Amp). The horn has 2 purple wires and a tan wire connected. Anything else I can check or is horn a goner ?

I assume the key was "on" for your test....

Before putting another horn in there, I'd want to rule out a short circuit from that tan wire directly to a 12V source -- maybe test for continuity between it and the red (engine wiring harness) or red/purple (boat harness) - the key can be off for that test. Check the big red main harness plug, look for areas where insulation can get chafed (wires routed though bulkheads for example). Make sure there's no accidental contact between tan & purple other than through the horn.

That's all I can think of. Measure resistance in the horn, if you can find out what it's s'pose to be. I'd measure mine for ya if it wasn't over at the storage yard.......
