Dont let my wife near it. :D
Just to let people know that the engine that the 2.0L split port has a valve seat problem. The valve seats brake apart and will destroy your engine as it gets sucked down through the engine. I just found out the hard way. It started out as a tick that i could not find. It went on for about a year with the noise coming and going. At first i thought was just a noisy injector and thats what it sounded like. To check to see if you have this problem take the air cleaner housing off and look down the throttle body looking for chunks of metal. Mine had about a dozen chunks sitting down there. Another note this has nothing to do with how well your car gets its maintenance done.
Now theres goes my new boat motor:(

Re: Warning on Ford Focus

Sounds like a bad experience. . .one bad experience. Are you claiming this is common?

I gave my grandson a Focus for his graduation from Cunilary Arts school. It now has over 230,000 miles on it and he will not part with it. He bought one for his wife about 3 years ago and she won't part with hers either.

Is either experience proof of something? I doubt it.

Re: Warning on Ford Focus

Or Focus has been a great little car. We have had it for 4 years now with 173000 klms on it. I phoned a Ford dealer in a city south of us and thay said thay go through very few engines in there shop and never herd of this problem. After looking on the net the engine re builders say to make shure that the intake is clean of debree from the fail-er due to this problem. When i got a hold of the auto wreckers thay told me the same thing and sell these engines all the time for that reason.
I don't know what engines your grandsons car has but it only effects the 2.0L split port engine not the ZTec engine.
