I warn anyone who is purchasing a Sierra fuel pump to make sure the pump?s gasket is installed correctly. Per several of my postings about carb issues I found that the brand new Sierra fuel pump I bought thru i-boats part number 18-7352 had faulty gaskets. The gaskets has sealant on the outer edge that was coming off and clogging the carbs, which now have been rebuilt 4 times. i was finding small strips of red gasket material in the carbs and did not know where it was coming from...finally I took a part the new fuel pump and found the source. If you do buy the Sierra fuel pump I suggest you put a fuel filter after the pump. This site is a great place for all of us to look after each other in boat motor issues and I am just doing my part.
