waste tank

Does anyone have any experience in removing a waste tank? I have a 1993 Chap 300 and assume the waste tank comes out through the access hatch under the rear bunk. Also the fresh water tank in the adjoining cavity. Anyone actually do this and can offer any advice on the replacement of tanks? thank you for the help....

Unfortuantely, every boat is laid out differently when it comes to tank placement. My waste tank is located against the starboard side, next to the rear berth. I think I know how it would come out but haven't had a reason to try it. My fresh water tank is in the bow under the v-berth platform, so I assume I'd need to disassmble the v-berth to lift it out.

Why do you need to remove your tanks?
