I had not fired her up in 14 months... Got a new battery... no start... diagnosed it to a solenoid... bought a new one & got her started in the driveway with the "water earmuffs" on (I don't know what you call those!)

She was running great! BUT...

She pee'd for about 4 sec... then no more, and since I had the cover off I started to see water between the spark plugs!

I am guessing my pump is bad and the water hose was still forcing some through?

Thanks for any input!

You have a cyl. block cover gasket thats leaking for sure and if the water pump is bad the muffs will force water thru the system.

Should I attempt to tighten something or get a new gasket? I need to find a diagram to see what you are talking about!

Could this leak be diverting the water and keeping it from peeing? Any chance the pump is ok?

Thanks for your super-fast reply!

telltale? I have to google that one too :)

Is there a tutorial somewhere on the seals?

My library had a repair manual when I got this thing 4 yrs ago I had to rebuild the carb, set timing, and redo some rotten wiring. Hopefully the book tells how to replace these seals simply without too much disassembly.

Thanks again.

telltale is the hole on the bottom of your cowling that the water comes out of.
