Mercury 110 9.8hp
Short shaft, 2 stroke

Is water that is drawn from water pump and impeller all suppose to come out of tell tale? Or is some of the water released to lower unit?

I blew air into tell tale hose and water tube and on the other end felt little to no air. I gently blew water into tell tale hose to see little of it go out watee tube and majority of it going down the walls and surface inside driveshaft housing.

Is this normal?

The tell tale is just a small portion of the water that exits from the block all the rest goes out the DSH and propeller which is normal.

I see, so how can I explain the low output from pee hole? It drips rather than pees...nothing clogging it...thermostat is working properly too.

Under the powerhead there was a plastic washer at the top of the water tube.----On severe overheat this washer melts and blocks water flow to the engine.------Factory replacement is now a better material.------Was the old impeller badly damaged ? ------any pieces missing ?---------Does the tube come off the thermostat housing ?---------serial # of motor?

i just changed the impeller. the old one had nothing torn off from it and nothing missing. i ran the motor to the same result. dripping drops only, no "peeing"
i can't pull off the tube from thermostat housing by hand, might have to cut it to take off.
how can i check this washer? how can i determine if its melted or still good. its a pretty tight spot looking up housing for driveshaft. is it an easy fix?

Is it possible for water to leak from the water inlet tube?
My inlet tube isn't tightly fitted down on pump and it isn't fitted too tight on water tube.
