Hey guys, I have a 1985 Ebbtide 16 and a half foot fish and ski, with a 1985 Evinrude 120 V4 VRO. Oil injection is disabled, ive been premixing. Ive been having problems, My boat would plane out and run fine at top speed for about a minute, then die completely. Got to thinking, and pulled the cover off the carbs. Ive got water slowly coming out of one of the lower carbs. I also noticed the engine block on the right side is getting very hot, and the other side is cool. Basically, my left two cyllinders are staying cool, and the right 2 are boiling. And it just so happens the carb with the water coming out is for one of the overheating cyllinders. Wadda you guys think, bad gasket? Thermostat? Or maybe a cracked block :/

are you sure you dont have water in your fuel? water coming out of the carbies is not going to be good news if it is true! more chance of fuel problem, either case a carby rebuild will be in order, then find out where it is coming from.

I would do a compression check on the bad side..most likely you have a blown head gasket..do not run till you fix problem..u having water come out the carb shows you have water in the engine also....

take head off and exhaust cover..look around for any cracks.....hopefuly some of the big dogs will chime in and direct you better....

but i would say you have a bad head gasket or a crack in the water jacket some where....

DO NOT RUN IT>>>>

disconnect the fuel line to engine, pull the plugs, any sign of rust ,spray some oil, preferably fogging oil in there and put plugs back a couple turns, not tite, and bump the starter a few times to get oil circulating the cyl walls, take a comp test,if the comp is good on all, check your fuel for waterm, hopefully you have a fuel/water seperator,if not ,after you get the problem solved ,install one, drain, the carbs ,pulling the brass plugs and try to savve what comes out,if water is present ,thats where the water came from, flush your fuel system ,
