By helping a friend with his 99 5.0 Mercruiser we have the following problem: The engine runs without any problems in idle. By accelerateing the engine starts to shake and a chirp sound from the dashboard beginns. By putting a squeeze ball into the fuel line before the filter and water cooled fuel pump and pumping the ball the engine runns fine and the warning sound from the dashboard disappears. The fuel pressure is about 30psi what should be enought for the MPI engine. By holding my finger on the sucking line before the filter I can hardly by almost not feel a vacuum there. The fuel filter was replaced about 10 driving hours befor from a dealer. How can help.??? Thanks for all ideas.

You may have a leaky seal on the fuel filter. It could be sucking air, but will not leak fuel, Same with any other connections from the fuel tank.
Check the sealing surface of the fuel filter and install a new filter and try it again. You might also use a small outboard tank to eliminate any other problems in the fuel system.
PS: The electric fuel pumps only pull a max of 2 in. hg at all engine speeds.

Sounds like you've got a Load of Crap in the Filter.......
Change it 1st.....
10hours, or 10 minutes can/will Plug a Filter if you've picked some water...........
