Water draining from block after you pull out from the river?

Quick question. Does all the water drain out of your outboard when you pull out of the river or is there anything you should or can drain? Thanks 1985 Mariner 115

It drains out if you are worrying about freezing your gearcase is the most vlunerable if it has water in it.

exactly what I was worried about. Gear case is ok. nothing but oil.

store all the way down so it can drain properly.
