Water/Electric Failure

I recently bought a 1985 Bayliner 25 foot cabin cruiser. I put the boat on the water, not knowing that it had a small hole in the hull. I had the bilge turned off and the engine compartment got wet. Since that happened, my freshwater pump, odometer, and other trim tabs quit working. I checked the fuses behind the instrument panel and they see to be fine. Anywhere else I can check for problems? I appreciate any comments or advice. Thanks

A boat's speedometer usually does not require electrical power, other than for the lighting for the gauge.

Use a voltmeter to see if you have power at the pump motor or trim tabs, then start chasing the wires back to the power source. There may be inline fuse holders in the power wires for the pump motor/trim tabs.

sorry i can't help with the problem, but after it is fixed you should have a float switch so the bilge will turn on automatically. your bilge pump may be wired incorrectly. it should have a float switch. if not, i just replaced mine last year for ~$35. good luck with that.
