water filter

I installed a water filter to my 86 60hp johnson and when I took it out for a test the motor kept bogging down. Should a water filter only be installed in an oil injection motor? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe need to clean the carbs, alot of times when you mess with gas lines you will either get some crap in the line or knock something loose.

What type of filter did you get?
