Water flow rate from 69 Johnson V-4 80hp...

Hey, this site is cool, lots of good info.<br /><br />Does anyone know what the water flow rate should be for a 69 Johnson V-4 80hp? I am told that it is supposed to spray and not trickel like my 9.9 Johnson. (The 80 hp has a large outlet hole, about 1 inch in diameter.) Thanks!<br /><br />Baddogdgs

Whoever told you that was dreaming..<br /><br />the big hole will only outlet a spray of water, most of what comes out is exhaust..<br /><br />if you look at the bottom of the leg when its on muffs, you will see on the sides at the rear of the leg are two big outlets just above the cav plate.. thats where the majority of water comes out. <br /><br />As long as your heads don't get to hot to touch for about 5 seconds... then you don't have anything to worry about.<br /><br />rgds<br /><br />Frank
