Water Flushing

I have a 1984 Johnson 9.9 outboard. What do I need to do a water flush besides putting it in a garbage can?

Run it at idle for a few minutes.

While you are flushing the 9.9 it is a good idea to give it a seafoam treatment thru the carb. It is a good habit to clean the pistons and rings.
