I want to put one on my 1991 70 hp Johnny Small Bass Boat I get some water over the back occassionally. Does any body have any preference as to what will work the best??????
Mercury also has a water seperating fuel filter kit that is easy to install. If you go to your local marine shop they can help you quite easily with the purchase and it comes with instructions. Be sure to place the filter above the fuel tank.
I use a Racor with a clear bowl and prefer it to the other spin-on types I've used in the past. It allows you to monitor how much water you're getting in the fuel and drain regularly - rather than changing the whole thing. Clear bowl only if it's not in a compartment, otherwise you need to use the metal bowl or a regular spin on type.
