Water/Fuel Seperator Installation Question

Hello All,
It was recently recommend that I install a Water/Fuel Seperator in my boat beacuse I have been noticing debre in the carb filter. So, based upon recommendation, I have purchased one. I was wondering If I am able to install it based upon the diagram attached. My idea is it would catch and debre coming out of the tank and also catch and debre coming out of the fulel pump.

Nope, it don't work that way,...

You use 1 intake port from the fuel tank, 'n 1 outlet port to the fuel pump,...
Plug the other 2,..
Then the fuel pump pushes fuel to the carb...

It Won't work the way ya show...

Both intake ports are common, as are both outlet ports...
