Water hose from outdrive to boat

Well I figured out why the thing ran rough after it was up to temp and seemed too hot, there is a hole in the water line from the outdrive to the boat (the one up and in with the bellows). Do I need to pull the entire outdrive off to change this or is there a way to do it with-out removal. 1973 pre-alfa 888 drive system.

I replaced my bellows and water line on my 888 this spring. While I won't say it would be impossible to replace the water pickup hose with the drive on, it was a snap with the drive off. Leaving the drive on will make the task pretty difficult.<br />74Silverline
