got a 1958 johnson seahorse 7.5, put in a tank of water and got it started, BUT instead of coming out of exhaust port water is filling up the rear cowling under plugs. need some help on what to look for. thanks
There is a passage way in the cylinder head.----The welch plug has fallen out.----You may be able to remove rear cowling to replace it.----Or pull cylinder head and install new head gasket after the repair.----Your choice.
Easy fix by removing the rear pan. The Welsh plug is the same as used in carburetors. Your local outboard guy probably has a bunch of them collected in his "goody box".
