3.0l 1988 mercrusier 3.0l
Engine ran fine before winterized, went to start and realized water in cylinder 3 and 4. Did compression test after getting water out.
#1 cylinder-150
#2 cylinder-155
#3 cylinder-115
#4 cylinder-115
Starting thinking head gasket. So started to taking it apart. As well as manifold.
1) Is there supposed to be rust by carburetor? There was water in the top of the manifold by carburetor and carb was filled with water.
2) head gasket was metal, I believe gasket was issue because of rust marks. Can you please confirm?
3)manifold gasket was bad as seen in picture, will replace. Can it be cleaned up?
4) The riser gasket was bad, could that cause the water in carb?
Thanks for all your help and input is greatly appreciated!
