Last weekend I was out on the lake and ran across a stupid sand bar hiding in the middle of the lake. I hit some sand, motor bogged a bit, and I killed it and raised the motor. It wouldn't start, and it turned out my brand new starter was cheap and the cone cracked and after further examination may not have been the right part. I was towed back.
I got my old starter repaired this week, and put it in. It cranked a bit and then froze. I immediately pulled the plugs, and water shot out.
I've read that bad exhaust manifolds are the common cause. Is there any chance that the boat is fine, and water came in due to me almost stalling it on sand and the starter cracking?
I've got the manual, but figured I'd ask people with more experience first.
Thanks!
