Ok.. this is part two of my earlier post... to catch up.. i capsized my 900zxi
and the engine compartment filled with water. I have the cylinders emptied out.. a fully charged battery... new plugs.. So I opened up the grey electrical box and that was full of water. I now have that dried out and attached the battery cables and wires. I turned the key switch on and still the dash lights still dont come on.. nor does anything happen when i hit the start button. My question is what part is malfunctioning that would allow power to be distributed throught the electrical system. Im thinking something in the electrical box became damaged while sitting in water. Any help?

Re: water in electrical box

I had the same problem a few years back. I had to replace the starter relay. I also went thru the whole box and cleaned every connection and greased them with a dielectric grease. The reason that water was in the box was that all 3 of the spark plug wire seals, on the box, were broken. I replaced those, put it all back together and all was well.
I have since sold the ski to a friend and it is still running well. 2 seasons so far.
I have the shop manuals for 900STX.
